Main session - 6.30-8.00:
The group consists of around 15-20 players often playing with several players to a part.
Players should have a basic technique on the recorder and can read music.
Players can play several sizes of recorder but this is optional. You should be able to play either a treble or a tenor as a minimum.
Technique session - 8.00-9.00:
This is an optional extension session for a smaller group to play more advanced music and learn technical playing skills.
Beginner/Improvers session - 5.15-6.15
This is a small and friendly group. Its perfect for beginner players, those who haven't played for many years or parents wanting to support a musical child.
These sessions help you learn to read music, learn correct techniques in recorder playing and develop a greater understanding of music in general.
Develop at your own pace with help from a very patient tutor. The music used is a flexible format that allow everyone to have a part as simple or as challenging as they want.
This group is suitable for:
Complete beginners, who may only know one or two notes
Those who used to play a little but haven't played for many years
Those who can play another instrument but wish to learn the recorder
Recorder players who wish to learn another size recorder
Players who play by ear and wish to learn to read music
Those that want to gain confidence in playing in a group and progress to more advanced playing
Autumn term dates:
Sessions remain suspended until further notice.
Online sessions resume from September 2020. In person sessions will return gradually during 2021 where possible.
£100/term - 1 session
£125/term - 2 sessions
£145/term - 3 sessions
